The poll on the left asks whether or not we would ever date outside our own race. I am currently dating a Sri Lankan. We have known each other for 8 years, and we've been dating for 2.5 years. It's a really great relationship, but sometimes we have cultural clashes. For instance, in his culture one is not unmarried at age 30. (He just turned 30 this summer) They also practice arranged marriages. So imagine my shock and dismay when his mom told him to come home and review a list of females she had picked out for him! He was able to "dodge that bullet," and I have met his mom, so I'm hoping for the best.

Where is the poll?
I'm not sure where it went. :) When I joined yesterday there was a poll that asked if we would ever date anyone outside of our race.
There were also one or two other posts by others in this group, and I'm having a hard time finding them now. I guess I need to become more familiar with this blog.
That is really intersting, and it is so nice for him to stand up for true love, rather than settling for the norm that his culture presents. I wish you to all the best of luck, and i'm so happy for you :)
